So I thought I’d go ahead and post about our trip to Panama City Beach Florida. We took 33 students to a conference and it was so stinkin cool to see God show up, and watch as our kids were transformed. This is one of those trips that reminds you why you do youth ministry. I felt like I was filled up so much from this one event that I am good to go for another year. Sometimes we need to get away from what’s going on in our everyday lives, and get a refresher from the One who created everything. Sometimes it is hard to work with teens, but I have to say this is one of those times that it is a real privilege. I am so BLESSED. Thanks to everyone that made this trip a success. And thanks to all the parents who prayed paid and worked to allow their students to attend. Love ya!
Ted

Well here it has been forever since I have updated my blog. Just call me slacker. That and I have been told I have spelling mistakes all throughout the site. Well that’s what you get when you have no time. Well today I spent the day working on our fellowship hall at church. We are in the midst of a minor overhaul to the stage and lighting. I feel like we are making progress yet at the same time it seems like the second I get something done something else that needs to be done pops up. It got me thinking today about my website, the fellowship hall, and next week the youth room all needing some work... How much are our lives like that? We are constantly under construction. It seems like God does a work in us, and we are excited about it, but soon after it seems something else needs to be fixed or updated. It seems to be part of life, yet I have a hard time seeing God throw up His hands and giving up on us. He rolls up His sleeves grabs His tool belt, and with a smile on His face gets to work. I guess what I am trying to say is if I am truly a Christ follower then I need to understand that life is always under construction spiritually. I can either sit back and look at the job (My life) throw my hands into the air and give up... Or I can grab my tools, put a smile on my face, and get to work. Why are you still reading this??? Get off your rear, and GET TO WORK!! God’s not done working on you!

Philippians 1:6
6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

So here it is Saturday Night and it has been a crazy couple of days. I came into work on Friday morning with every intention of finishing my lesson, and getting ready for some Sunday meetings; only to be greeted by a call from the Director of our Christmas production. It seems that Jim my boy (Pastor of music) has come down with a slight cold that took his singing voice from him. So the question arose can you learn his song by tonight? It is amazing what an entire day of focusing on a song singing it over, and over will do. I feel like my voice will never recover, but it has been fun pushing the limits of my memory. Praise God I stumbled through the first night, and the second. Only forgot a few words. Hopefully no one noticed. I guess I will find out tomorrow when I come into church. It really is cool to see how God always has a plan when things don’t go our way. From the simple angle of providing a costume that fits, the ability to remember some words, and the song fell into my range. God always seems to know the answer before we even realize there is a need. God is good.
Catch you all next week.
Ted

Kind of a random picture, but I needed something. This kind of shows the mood I am in anyways. I am sitting here in my living room having a chocolate mint cookie thinking about all I have to do tomorrow. How in the world do we get to point in our lives where we are so busy we don’t even know where to begin? Do ever feel that way? Like there is so much to do, and such little time that you find yourself confused on what task to tackle first? No one should ever have to bring their work home yet we all do it. It makes me think there should be some kind of law against it. I guess I need to make my own law, and place some kind of punishment for when I do it. Maybe take the idea of the swear jar, but call it the work -jar. Every time I bring work home I have to put $5 in the jar. The more I thought about it the more I realized I don’t make that much money. Oh well I digress.
And since when do I find myself thinking about coffee in the middle of the night? I don’t even like coffee but the more time that goes on the more I find myself drinking it. I am afraid I may have been forced to the dark side. It doesn’t help that there is a Star-bucks just down the street from where I work all day. It is amazing how I will drive by the building, and find myself thinking oh it’s just one cup of coffee. The problem is the more I give in the more I ask myself “ does one grande a day mean I have begun the process of forming a habit?” I guess I will have to wait 46 more days, and I will let you know.
